Most Likely to Succeed – Documentary Film @ CTE City Campus
Jun 29 @ 6:45 pm – 7:45 pm

The Centre for Training Excellence is proud to be screening: Most Likely to Succeed.

Premiered at Sundance 2015
Official Selection at Tribeca 2015

‘Our School system was designed in 1893’. A Provocative Look at the Future of Education.

View the TRAILER or CLICK HERE to hear Greg talk about Most Likely to Succeed by listening to the podcast of his interview with week with high-rating ABC Morning radio host, Jon Faine.

“Until now, none of us has been able to fully capture the need and vision for a new model of education. “Most Likely to Succeed” has done it! Show it to your students! Show it to your PTAs! Show it to your faculty! Show it to your school board! And let the conversation begin on how we bring this kind of education to every child so each one is truly ready for the challenges of 21st century life.” My wife and I stayed up way past our bedtime to watch the movie. It is terrific! It is thrilling to see the case and the vision for a new model of education pulled together as a compelling visual story. Those of us proposing a new model for 21st century schools and districts are lucky to have this great film help us build momentum for our collective efforts.”— Ken Kay, CEO, EdLeader21, founding President, Partnership for 21st Century Skills, co-author, “Leader’s Guide to 21st Century Education”

Overview
Once the envy of the world, the American educational system produced an unmatched workforce tailored for the 20th Century. But as the global economy has shifted over the past 20 years, the United States has clung to an obsolete education model with an emphasis on teaching to the test, thus leaving our students woefully unprepared for 21st Century employment and disillusioning our teachers.

In the new feature-length documentary Most Likely to Succeed, which premiered at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival, director, writer and producer Greg Whiteley examines the shortcomings of conventional education methods in today’s changing world. The film also explores an exciting new approach that promotes so-called “soft skills,” which many believe are more important in today’s workplace than the “Three R’s.”

At a time when many recent college graduates find themselves unemployed or underemployed, Most Likely to Succeed explores the causes of this phenomenon and offers up a possible solution. interviews with education specialists, economists, business leaders, teachers, students and parents shed light on the urgent need for a new kind of education that develops the uniquely human skills and capacities that cannot be replaced or made obsolete by a machine.

‘If we teach today as we taught yesterday, we rob our children of tomorrow.’
— John Dewey, Educational Reformer

BSB51615 – Diploma of Quality Auditing @ CTE City Campus
Jul 19 @ 9:00 am – 4:30 pm

Nationally recognised Auditing qualification

The BSB51615 Diploma of Quality Auditing is a nationally recognised qualification designed to develop skills in areas such as participating in and conducting quality audits, report audit findings, preparing audit documentation and managing audit teams. This program is designed for team leaders, internal auditors and quality auditors.

CTE delivers the Diploma of Quality Auditing in an intensive format. In this format, participants attend facilitated training over 5 non-consecutive days, complete assessment activities in the class (in the form of a guided audit) and are then required to complete assessment material (audits) in their own time. The sixth day is a half day and has been developed as a supported tutorial session. Participants will be required to conduct two quality audits in their own time, over 12 months, to successfully complete the Diploma. Due to the intensive nature of the course, it is strongly recommended that participants already have knowledge of quality auditing frameworks and processes. Assessment will require application of the knowledge and skills, so participants will benefit most if they are in auditing roles, or have auditing experience within an organisation.

Duration: 6 days, split into 2 sessions + an additional half day supported tutorial session
Times: 9.00am – 4.30pm
Investment: Full course fee $2,950 per person includes course materials and assessment fees. This course is exempt from GST.

RPL for BSB51607 Diploma of Quality Auditing $1,500

Recognition of Prior Learning is an appropriate process for those team leaders, internal auditors and quality auditors who are participating in and conducting quality audits, report audit findings, prepare audit documentation and manage audit teams. RPL submissions consist of three forms of evidence; Responses to Questions, Workplace Documents, Third Party Report and candidates will be interviewed by their assessor.

Please contact CTE for the RPL kit on 9427 1555 or trainingexcellence@central.wa.edu.au
