The Centre for Training Excellence (CTE) offers both nationally recognised VET training programs and short courses that meet the Vocational Education and Training (VET) practitioner’s continuous professional learning requirements. We are located near the Perth CBD, with easy access to public transport.

Certificate IV in Training and Assessment – Assessment Cluster @ CTE City Campus
Oct 4 @ 9:00 am – 4:30 pm

The Assessment component is one of four clusters that form the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment qualification. You may elect to complete this cluster only, however if you wish to have the entire Cert IV qualification you will also need to complete the Learning Design, Facilitation and On the Job Trainer clusters.

Audience
It is applicable for all individuals who teach, train, assess and develop resources for learners in the regulated Australian VET sector.

Units of competence

  • TAEASS401B – Plan assessment activities and processes (C)
  • TAEASS402B – Assess competence(C)
  • TAEASS403B – Participate in assessment validation (C)

2016 Intake Dates:

  • Intake 1: March 15, 16 & 17
  • Intake 2: June 28, 29 & 30
  • Intake 3: October 4, 5 & 6

You will need to attend one intake of full day workshops from 9am – 4.30pm.

There is so much conflicting information around about how to conduct an RPL and the AQTF requirements. This workshop will help “bust some of the myths”. Gain a clear understanding of the RPL process and become more confident in designing RPL instruments and conducting assessments. We’ll look at what the AQTF says about assessment as well as how to develop the most streamlined and effective way of conducting RPL, while still meeting the standards. Bring along RPL tools and examine them at the second workshop.

The topics covered in this course include:

  • Streamlining RPL assessments
  • Best practice in RPL assessment
  • Mapping RPL assessments to job roles
  • Supporting the applicant
  • RPL resources
  • Training Package and AQTF requirements for RPL assessment

Learn more about the development, contextualisation and validation of assessment tools. Explore ways to make the most of the outcomes of validation and moderation. Participants are strongly encouraged to bring at least one assessment item from their RTO as they will have the opportunity to participate in a validation exercise.

Inclusive learning is about a fair go for everyone.

Everyone has a right to learn, everyone can learn, but many people do not get fair access to learning and assessment opportunities.

This course will help you develop strategies to support your students without affecting the integrity of the unit of competency and ensuring any modifications to assessments meet AQTF standards.

Certificate IV in Training and Assessment – On the Job Trainer @ CTE City Campus
Nov 9 @ 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

On the Job Trainer
This program will equip you with the skills and knowledge to plan, organise and facilitate on the job training. You will also use the Australian Core Skills Framework to determine and meet the Language Literary and Numeracy (LLN) skills of those undertaking training and assessment on the job.

It is recommended that the Assessment and Facilitation clusters have been completed prior to attempting On the Job Trainer.

It is applicable for all individuals who teach, train, assess and develop resources for learners in the regulated Australian VET sector.

Certificate IV in Training and Assessment – Facilitation Cluster (Part B Optional) @ CTE City Campus
Nov 23 @ 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

Group Delivery Assessment

It is a requirement for some of the Delivery & Facilitation (Part A) units to deliver consecutive sessions to a group. Some clients are able to meet the assessment requirements in their workplace, participants are required to discuss with the assessor. For participants who are unable to access group facilitation and meet the assessment requirements in their workplace, we provide an ‘optional group delivery assessment” opportunity.

This entails attending face to face sessions for an additional 2 days in 2016.

2016 Intakes – 2 days:

  • Intake 1: May 18, 19
  • Intake 2: August 24, 25
  • Intake 3: November 23, 24

Must attend all workshop days for one intake from 9.00am to 4.30pm.
